Direct all comments about a website to the webmaster of that specific website. There is also a Bob Smith Detachment Facebook page and as of this date, the page is still under construction and not available to the pubic.
LOCATION FOR MEETINGS
The Bob Smith Detachment #784 of the Marine Corps League, Incorporated holds monthly meetings on the second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the American Legion Post 265, 535 Walton Avenue, Hummelstown, PA 17036. This American Legion Post is an old brownstone mansion with a stone wall that runs along the edge of Walton Ave. From the Square in Hummelstown, drive east, going past the firehouse. Main Street turns into Walton Avenue in front of the Soda Jerk Diner. (Main St actually turns right and becomes a small side street). The Legion is on the right side of the street past the POST OFFICE (on the left) and if you get to Sheetz - you went a little bit too far. You may park in the paved parking lot on the right side of the Post. It has a few handicapped parking spaces. You can also drive past that parking lot's entrance and at the end of the brownstone wall, there is a second entrance to a large stone parking lot. The large stoned parking lot is not directly next to the building but there is a sidewalk connecting the parking lot to the Post's main entrance located on the right side of the building. There are steps but there is also a handicap ramp. Do not use the "front porch" doors, they are locked and nobody will answer to let you in at that door.
You do not have to be a member of the American Legion to enter the building. When you enter the building through the side entrance, walk through the bar to the far side of the room and go through the double doors into the small meeting room. There may come a time when the Detachment will meet upstairs in the large meeting hall, but for now we meet in the small first floor room.
